Reveal blocked images on many different sites

This Safari extension helps reveal blocked images on Google Books, ebay, life.com and many other sites that try to disallow saving images. It adds 'Reveal Image' options to the right-click menu, shows the image name and dimensions, and allows opening the image in a new window or tab.

DOWNLOAD BY CLICKING HERE
Remember to install the extension by double-clicking the downloaded file ImageRevealer.safariextz.

Update July 1: v1.5 Added preferences to control many options, including menu item width.

Here's how it looks on google books, ebay and life.com:

MICRO-FAQ:

CAN YOU PROVIDE 'DOWNLOAD IMAGE' ALONG WITH 'REVEAL IMAGE' FUNCTIONALITY?
I wish the Safari extensions API could trigger downloads, but it currently cannot. Nor does it allow rewriting headers, so content-type trickery won't work either. To save the image you'll have to 'Reveal' it and then use the normal 'Save Image' mechanism.

ON GOOGLE BOOKS, I WANT TO RIGHT-CLICK AND DIRECTLY DOWNLOAD IMAGES.
My other little extension does that.

DOES THIS EXTENSION REVEAL BACKGROUND IMAGES?
Yes, to a limited extent.

I HAVE A SUGGESTION.
Love to hear it! Please leave a comment.

  2. I'd prefer an option to reveal in a new tab or window via a preference under the settings portion of the extensions panel. It would help to limit contextual menu space.

  3. Hello!
It's a great extension, I like it! But I have one request. Native command of Safari 'Open image in new tab/window' duplicates the command of this extension 'Reveal image...' if the picture has been inserted an html element (img src="..."). Maybe you can add an option 'Show command only for css/background/etc image' in preferences?
    Thanks!

  6. Howdy! Safari 9 seems to break this extension; options no longer appear on right-click. Do you know why this may be, or do you have plans to update?

Love this extension and use it daily! Thanks :)

  7. An easy solution would be to let anyone submit a subtitle to any video to the YouTube uploader... then that person gets an alert, and can choose to use that subtitle track or not (accept or reject it).
